Maya Kitajima
Maya Kitajima (北島マヤ Kitajima Maya), also known as The girl with a thousand masks, is the main character of Glass no Kamen (Glass Mask) . She fell in love with theater plays at a young age that she would become completely immersed in them. At 13, her extraordinary talent for memorizing stage plays is discovered by Chigusa Tsukikage (a retired actress), which prompted Maya to leave her home life behind in order to accomplish her dreams. Tsukikage happened to be the owner of the national-landmarked play Crimson Goddess, which she is trying to relive. However, a company by the name of Daito Entertainment has their eye on the play, and would do anything to get the rights. Throughout the series, Maya will have to overcome many obstacles that will eventually prepare her to compete against Ayumi Himekawa (Maya's rival) for the role of the esteemed Scarlet Angel.[1]
Personality[]
Maya is shown to be a very hardworking and passionate girl about her dreams. While, she is still a regular teenage girl her natural talent outshines many as she often immerses herself in her roles, seeing the character through her own eyes. Maya is overall a good-natured girl who respects Ayumi Himekawa (Maya's rival), even though their relationship can be tense due to their rivalry .Thus, Maya admires Ayumi's talent and wishes she could become a better actress,but has no ill intentions toward her.[1] Maya is also shown to be naive in romantic situations, she is oblivious to Yū Sakurakōji's feelings for her and the true identity of Mr. Purple Roses.
